Katie is an exercise physiologist, multisport coach, and health and wellness coach in Chicago. She is an avid triathlete and cyclist, and has been involved in endurance events for over a decade. Katie grew up competitively swimming, became an active runner in college, and completed her first triathlon in 2011. Since then, she has completed countless triathlons including sprint, olympic, half ironman, and full Ironman events. Katie is a multi-time Ironman All World Athlete and multi-time qualifier for USAT Age Group Nationals.
Katie completed her initial coaching certification in 2013 and joined the CES coaching staff shortly thereafter. She is now a USAT Triathlon Level II Coach, USA Triathlon Level I Youth & Junior Coach, USA Cycling Level III Coach, US Masters Swim Level I Coach, Functional Movement Systems Level 2 provider, and is one of less than 30 USA Triathlon Level II Paratriathlon Coaches in the United States. She has years of experience coaching independently and with Chicago Endurance Sports, Dare2tri, and Paralyzed Veterans of America. Katie enjoys coaching athletes of all skill-level and experience, but takes a special interest in helping beginner triathletes learn and navigate the sport!
Professionally, Katie holds a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Kinesiology and works as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist in the Executive Health Program at Northwestern Medicine. In 2021, she became a Master Certified Health & Wellness Coach, and will sit for the national board exam to become a Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach. Katie is a lifelong student who has a passion for attending continuing education, with the goal of being an excellent resource for her athletes and patients.
In addition to coaching, Katie continues to train and race triathlon competitively. In her free time, she enjoys exploring new trails with her dog Parker, setting cycling records, and testing out new baking recipes in the kitchen.
