Summer 5K/10K Training Program - 2020

Are you looking for structure to help you start (or stick to) a regular running routine? Maybe you’d like to run a 5K or 10K (once they’re allowed to resume!). Perhaps you simply want to connect with like-minded people, who also need the support that only being part of a group can provide, even if we have to meet “virtually”. No matter what your goals, you’ll benefit from the guidance and motivation of our experienced coaching staff and mentors.

No experience is necessary - you only need the desire to make a positive change in your life, and understand that you’re not alone in this journey.

Virtual Training (Starts Monday, July 13th)

Due to the current pandemic, we are adjusting how we train together. The majority of our interaction will be online, both through your training plan, email communication (weekly newsletter or emails with coaches) and our private Facebook Group. But we also know how much it means to see a friendly, supportive face while we’re out on the path.

Weekend Optional “Air High 5” Runs:

We are working on the details of providing some much needed "support" on your weekend workouts. We’ll be stationing your coaches on the running path during specific times/locations, to make that visual/verbal connection and provide some encouragement, while maintaining a safe distance. We will NOT be hosting group runs, in the traditional sense, but will provide guidance for those that are comfortable meeting in small, physically distant groups. Due to strict health regulations, we will not be able to gather at our beloved Fleet Feet stores, but will provide guidance for routes using the trails near our normal meeting locations. Exact course suggestions will be communicated by your coaches on a weekly basis.

    • Elmhurst (Prairie Path)

    • Old Town (Lakefront Trail)

    • South Loop (Lakefront Trail)

  • SUNDAYS (tentatively starting July 26th)

    • Lincoln Square (North Shore Channel Trail)
