FAQ & POLICIES
How many miles should I be able to run before training begins?
We recommend that as a minimum, runners should be consistently running at least 5-6 times per week, with a minimum “long run” distance of 8-10 miles once per week (either continuous run or a combination of run/walk).
We also provide a 4-week “prep” plan complete with optional group runs for the weeks leading up to the start of training, to help make sure you’re ready for the start of the season.
What is the minimum age to participate in a training program?
Athletes must be 18 years old to participate.
Can I participate with a stroller or pet?
For the safety of all participants, strollers & pets are NOT allowed at group training sessions.
Do you offer customized training plans?
Our coaching staff can help you make simple changes to the training plans, to help accommodate your lifestyle and needs. If, however, you have more unique circumstances, such as a non-traditional work/life schedule, unique training needs or just want that extra bit of personal attention and customization to help get you where you want to be, we offer a Virtual 1:1 Personal Coaching option. This monthly service is available throughout the length of the season, with no minimum commitment.
For more details, click the “PERSONAL COACHING” tab above.
What is the weather policy for cancelling group training?
We like to prepare for all types of conditions (rain, snow, wind, etc.) as you never know what it might be on race day. However, if there are conditions that could potentially put the participants or staff in danger (such as lightning, extreme heat or extreme cold), we will cancel or postpone training. For complete details and weather alerts, visit HERE.
What is the Refund/Cancellation policy?
Should you decide to cancel your participation in the CES Performance Half Marathon training program, registered participants have until two weeks prior to the start of the program (11:59pm (CDT) May 23, 2021), to be eligible for a full refund or credit. To request a refund/credit, please contact info@chicagoendurancesports.com.
*After May 23, 2021, no refunds or credits will be provided in full or in part for any reason, including injury, illness or race cancellation/changes. No prorated fees are provided for late enrollments. Race entry fees are NOT included in training fees.
The CES Performance Half Marathon program will continue regardless of any changes to the Chicago Half Marathon, or any other fall goal races. Should your goal race be cancelled or be unable to accommodate you, your CES Coaches & Staff will continue to support you, regardless, through the entire season.
Are Race Entry Fees included in training program fees?
Race entry fees & race registration are NOT included in training program fees and are the responsibility of the participant.
