FAQ & POLICIES
What is the minimum recommended fitness level I should have before training begins?
Recommended Minimum Fitness Level
A triathlon is a challenging event. To make sure this is the right program for you, we have established some MINIMUM fitness requirements for participation. While we don’t require any previous experience in triathlon races, all participants should be comfortably able to complete the following prior to the start of the program:
Swim: While we do teach swim technique skills, due to the group setting, this program is not recommended for non-swimmers, or those with fears of deep water or putting your face in the water. We want this to be an enjoyable experience - not a fearful one!
Sprint: 10-15 minutes (300-600 yards) non-stop, easy swim (or with minimal rest)
Olympic: 20-30 minutes (800-1000 yards) non-stop, easy swim (or with minimal rest)
Bike:
Sprint: 30-40 minutes non-stop, easy riding
Olympic: 45-60 minutes non-stop, easy riding
Run: 20-30 minute easy run or run/walk
